DIY Poetry
I admit it, I have never taken a poetry class. But, when inspired by something in this crazy world, I find rhyming it out gives me satisfaction and a sense of catharsis. Here is one sample of my poems:
The Deal
Let me show you the hypocrisy
In the fabric we call society
Where reality shows are fantasy
Insecurity becomes priority
Just 1 step to be healthy
Pop a pill, enjoy the scenery
Science that's made for frivolity
The truth is now the anomaly
Civil servants acting selfishly
As their pacs lead them so helpfully
Mammoth INC's control what you see
And news networks fall to banality
Food is now a toxicity
That's wrecking our abilities
Ask a question politely
Their lawyers deny you forthrightly
Individuals beaten up peacefully
Just fit in to do exceedingly
Is it complacency, or just gravity
Why the eyes shut out reality?
